Vincenzo Montella is the leading candidate to take charge of Catania next season, the club confirmed.
Montella guided Roma to a sixth-placed finish in Serie A this term but has yet to be offered a contract extension to remain at the Stadio Olimpico.
''Montella remains favourite for the job,'' said Catania club administrator Pietro Lo Monaco. ''We will take another four or five days before we make our decision.''
Former Lecce coach Luigi De Canio is considered a possible alternative should Catania fail to lure Montella to Sicily.
Catania are looking for a new boss after Diego Simeone parted company with the club having guided the team to Serie A safety.
