Belgium have suffered a blow to their Euro 2012 qualifying ambitions as it has been revealed that striker Romelu Lukaku will miss their crucial game with Turkey this weekend through injury.
Lukaku, 18, is one of Europe hottest properties and claimed on Wednesday that he would either be moving to a top Premier League club or stay at Anderlecht by Monday, as his exams begin.
However, any move may be hindered by a medical after he revealed that he had suffered a foot injury that will see him miss the weekend's crunch clash.
"I have bad news," Lukaku wrote on his Facebook account. "I have suffered an injury to a bone in my foot. It needs further investigation, but I will keep you informed. I am obviously very disappointed [to miss the game] but am sure we will win. I will do everything I can to recover quickly."
Belgium sit just one point ahead of Turkey in second place, having played one game more, and a win for Georges Leekens' side would give them a real chance of qualifying for the tournament in Poland & Ukraine.
