Rennes winger Sylvain Marveaux has cast doubt on his move to Liverpool but still expects to be playing in the Premier League next season.
Marveaux is available on a free transfer and was assumed to be heading to Anfield in the summer. However, the former France under-21 international has not yet decided on a final destination.
"I have not chosen. I have not yet signed. What is certain is that next season I will play in England," he told French newspaper L'Equipe.
Marveaux has struggled with injury this season, having not featured since November, and explained that he will leave the French Ligue 1 club on slightly unfriendly terms.
"I was able to resume training this week. I would have liked to train with my team-mates, but the club informed me that they did not want me to take part with the group," the 25-year-old said.
"I enjoyed helping the club to a great season. I am disappointed at not being able to have one last match at the stadium. For 10 years, I gave what I had to give to Rennes."
