Martinez and Mata in Spain squad

Spain have included World Cup winners Javi Martinez and Juan Mata in their squad for the European Under-21 Championship in Denmark but there was no place for Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets.

Busquets has been granted the summer off as he is expected to be in the full squad for next year's Euro 2012 event in Poland and Ukraine with the 2013 Confederations Cup and the 2014 World Cup also looming large.

Athletic Bilbao midfielder Martinez and Valencia winger Mata, who were both in the squad which triumphed in South Africa last summer, have been included in a party which surprisingly features no Real Madrid players.

Spain squad: David De Gea (Atletico Madrid), Diego Marino (Villarreal), Ruben Mino (Barcelona); Alberto Botia (Sporting Gijon), Cesar Azpilicueta (Marseille), Alvaro Dominguez (Atletico Madrid), Mikel San Jose (Athletic Bilbao), Jose Angel (Sporting Gijon), Didac Vila (AC Milan), Victor Ruiz (Napoli), Martin Montoya (Barcelona); Ander Herrera (Real Zaragoza), Jav Martinez (Athletic Bilbao), Dani Parejo (Getafe), Jeffren (Barcelona), Thiago Alcantara (Barcelona), Ruben Perez (Deportivo), Diego Capel (Sevilla), Juan Mata (Valencia); Iker Muniain (Athletic Bilbao), Bojan Krkic (Barcelona), Adrian Lopez (Deportivo La Coruna), Emilio Nsue (Real Mallorca).
