FC Copenhagen winger Jesper Gronkjaer has announced he will end his playing career following the season finale against AaB on Sunday.
Gronkjaer, 33, enjoyed spells with Ajax, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and Stuttgart before leaving the Bundesliga to join FCK in 2006.
During his time in the Danish capital, Gronkjaer has helped the club win four SAS Liga titles, including this season's trophy.
"After careful consideration I've decided to end my football career at the highest level after Sunday's match against AaB,'' he told the club's official website. "My journey with FC Copenhagen has been amazing and I've had experiences which are etched in my memory.''
Gronkjaer also scored five goals in 80 appearances for Denmark before retiring from the international scene after the 2010 World Cup.
