Defoe can be Sunderland's saviour

Hiddink: I am fully focused on Turkey

Turkey coach Guus Hiddink has insisted he has not been distracted by speculation linking him with a return to Chelsea and is fully focused on his next game in Euro 2012 qualifying.

The Blues are hunting a replacement for Carlo Ancelotti, who was sacked last weekend, and Hiddink is believed to be owner Roman Abramovich's first choice.

Hiddink had a successful spell at Chelsea, leading the club to FA Cup glory in 2009 while combining the role with that of Russia coach. He has since moved on to Turkey, but remains in regular contact with Abramovich in his role as an advisor to the club.

Abramovich is believed to be keen on bringing Hiddink back to Stamford Bridge but the Dutchman has insisted his focus is on Turkey's Euro 2012 qualifier with Belgium - a game of huge importance that he has previously said could see him quit his post if his side do not get a positive result.

"I have heard a lot of rumours and speculation," Hiddink said. "I have told the players they must focus on Belgium and the same goes for me. I am fully focused on getting the team ready for next Friday.

"I have in my career very few games. I want to do more with the players on a daily basis but that is impossible because I am national team manager. But I am not going into the speculation as I have to prepare the team and to make sure that no one can blame me afterwards saying I was concentrating on other things.

"I am not going into speculation, I am fully concentrated. I demand full commitment from myself so I will not go into speculation. I am being forced by circumstances to go into a tunnel and exclude a little bit the outside world."
