Alexandre Pato is in serious doubt for Brazil's Copa America campaign after picking up a shoulder injury whilst playing for his club side, AC Milan.
Pato dislocated his right shoulder during Sunday's final Serie A game of the season at Udinese. His 14 goals this season helped Milan to the Scudetto, and will undergo further tests on Monday, but the 21-year-old is expected to be out of action for at least four weeks, leaving him in a race against time for the Copa America which begins on July 1.
"Fortunately Pato has not suffered a fractured bone,'' said Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani. "Hence, he will not need to undergo surgery. However, he will need to wear a cast for three or four weeks. I am not a doctor but I think he will not be able to play at the Copa America.''
Brazil take on Holland and Romania in friendlies next month prior to the continental showpiece in Argentina.
