Seedorf unsure of Milan future

AC Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf still does not know if he will remain with the club next season after talks with vice president Adriano Galliani.

Seedorf met with Galliani on Tuesday to try and thrash out an agreement for the Dutchman to stay at the San Siro. He is out of contract in the summer and would not be short of suitors.

The 35-year-old midfielder, a four-time Champions League winner with Ajax (1995), Real Madrid (1998) and Milan (2003, 2007), has been linked with teams across Europe as well as Brazilian clubs Corinthians and Botafogo. He has ruled out a return to Ajax.

Seedorf said: "I don't know if I will stay next season. [The] meeting went well. I don't know if I will stay at Milan next season, but it was a very friendly meeting and we'll talk again next week. We want to end the season with a victory against Udinese first, then we'll discuss it.

"My rapport with Milan will be good, even if we no longer work together. After all, we have always got along well, as President Silvio Berlusconi and Galliani expressed words of affection towards me."

Of the link with Botafogo, Seedorf said: "I have not met with any Botafogo directors personally. Maybe someone else did on my behalf."

Thiago Silva, Mark Van Bommel and Flavio Roma have already signed new deals.

Milan have secured Silva's services until June 2016. Van Bommel, who joined the Italian giants in January from Bayern Munich, has agreed a one-year contract extension with his previous deal expiring this summer. Former Monaco goalkeeper Roma, who was also set to become a free agent next month, has signed a contract with the Rossoneri outfit until June 2012.
