Al Habsi won't accept bench role

On-loan Wigan goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi says he will not accept being second best no matter where he plays next season.

Al Habsi, who is due to return to Bolton at the end of the campaign, spelt out his ambition on Twitter.

He said: ''Regarding my situation, there are no serious negotiations with any club so far. After the last match next week and whether we win or lose, I will be heading back to Bolton. Be sure I will not accept sitting on the bench next season with any of the clubs.''

Wigan could still escape relegation after a dramatic victory against West Ham and Al Habsi added: ''What a wonderful morning after the big win yesterday. I felt that all Wigan was one family.''
