Premier Showdown - May 7-9
A rare win for the Rest of the World team last weekend kept Tommy Smyth waiting another round to pick up the Premier Showdown trophy (not that there's a real one) but surely the unthinkable cannot happen. Dale Johnson's only hope now is to win every single one of the three remaining rounds. There is no margin for error, no other escape route. Dale needs three back-to-back wins or it's all over. That said, Tommy has definitely wobbled of late and just needs to get over the line. Looking to help out Tommy by thwarting Dale is John Davies. John reveals: "I support Fulham, and have done so since I was five. I work in Atlanta, Georgia in the United States as a Pre press operator. I'm 62 years of age have played since I was five and have been coaching youth and adult soccer in the Marietta area of Georgia. "I used to travel to watch the Fulham team in the 60s and early 70s but moved to USA in 83, where I now reside. I've been married for 37 years and have three kids and seven grandkids, one of my kids (adults) is a Man United supporter I am sorry to say."
Let's check out those predictions.
For each round of Premier League action we invite one reader to take on Press Pass pundit Tommy Smyth and ESPNsoccernet journalist Dale Johnson in our predictions game.
Points are then awarded as follows:
• Three points for a correct result and scoreline
• One point for a correct result
After the weekend's scores are in and the Showdown result has been worked out, the winning pundit receives three points for their season's total. Should the challenger win, the total is added to the Rest of the World tally. In the case of a draw, the points are shared.
Dale sneaks home for another three points! The drama is really building now - surely Tommy cannot throw it away?
Table after Round 36
