Udinese go fourth with Lazio victory

Antonio Di Natale struck twice in the first half to fire ten-man Udinese to a 2-1 victory over Lazio and lift the Bianconeri over the Roman club and into fourth place.

The Italy international opened the scoring in the 35th minute before adding his second shortly before half-time. Lazio striker Mauro Zarate had his 67th-minute penalty kick saved by Udinese goalkeeper Samir Handanovic.

Gabriele Angella, who brought down substitute Tommaso Rocchi inside the area for Lazio's penalty, was shown a straight red in that episode. Lazio substitute Libor Kozak reduced the deficit in the 76th minute.

After seeing rivals Milan take the Scudetto on Saturday, Inter clinched their place in the Champions League next season with a 3-1 win over Fiorentina at the San Siro.

Giampaolo Pazzini put the Nerazzurri ahead in the 25th minute with Esteban Cambiasso making it 2-0 three minutes later. Alberto Gilardino gave the visitors hope in the 74th minute, but Coutinho restored Inter's two-goal advantage just two minutes later to seal the win.

Javier Chevanton's controversial strike two minutes from time lifted Lecce to a key 2-1 victory over Napoli in their fight for survival at the foot of Serie A. Chevanton's late goal - only awarded when the referee overruled his assistant's original decision not to give it - settled a fiery encounter in which both sides had a man sent off in a dramatic second half.

Daniele Corvia opened the scoring for the hosts from the penalty spot on 49 minutes but the same player received his marching orders for a second yellow card just five minutes later. Giuseppe Mascara pulled the sides level on 67 minutes and with 16 minutes remaining Edinson Cavani made it ten men apiece as he, too, saw red for a second booking.

Sampdoria dropped into the bottom three as a result of Lecce's win and stayed there after a 2-1 defeat to city rivals Genoa later in the day as Mauro Boselli scored the winner in the seventh minute of injury time.

The Rossoblu took the lead through on-loan striker Antonio Floro Flores' close-range header but Samp hit back in the second period when Genoa goalkeeper Eduardo spilled a long-range shot from Angelo Palombo and Nicola Pozzi steered the rebound home with his knee.

Cesena eased their relegation fears with a hard-fought 2-0 victory at mid-table Cagliari. Luis Jimenez put the visitors ahead in the 53rd minute before substitute Dominique Malonga doubled the advantage six minutes from time.

Bologna and Parma will head into the final two games of the season still both unsure of which division they will be playing in next term after battling out a goalless draw.

Brescia were relegated from Serie A after a 2-1 defeat against Catania left them seven points from safety with two games to go.
