Guardiola 'honoured' by Inter Milan link

Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola has admitted he is flattered by reports linking him with the Inter Milan manager's job, but stressed that he is committed to honouring his contract at Camp Nou.

• Suarez tips Pep for Inter job

Guardiola, 40, is on the verge of leading Barca to a third successive La Liga title and could win a second European Cup in three years should the Catalans beat Manchester United in the Champions League final on May 28.

The former Spain midfielder's continued success has reportedly alerted Inter president Massimo Moratti, who is believed to be weighing up whether to replace current coach Leonardo at the end of the season.

But while Guardiola, who played in Serie A for Brescia and Roma in a 16-year career, is happy to be linked with the Nerazzurri, he confirmed his intention to at least see out the final year of his Barca contract.

"I am honoured by Inter's interest in me and they are a great club," Guardiola said at a press conference on Saturday. "I still have a year on my contract with Barcelona. In any case, before anything else I have to talk to the team and the directors."

Meanwhile, amid the speculation linking Guardiola with the Inter hotseat, current boss Leonardo has reiterated that he is determined to hold onto his job.

"I have no doubts about my future. I don't want to leave and I have never said any different," Leonardo said. "When I arrived here the club were struggling in the title race. Inter have had a season of troubles and we have tried to manage the best we can.

"There is disappointment that we didn't do better in the crucial derby with Milan, but whoever comes out on top deserves to be there. I have a mission to complete here and I want to stay. I want to take the club forward next season.

"People can say what they want but we are second in the league, we reached the Champions League quarter-finals and we're in the running to win the Coppa Italia. If you take everything into consideration, Inter are among the most consistent and successful teams in Europe this year."
