Moratti denies Tevez interest

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has denied holding an interest in Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez.

Mancini to discuss Tevez future
Tevez 50-50 for cup final
'Pandev and Tevez can play together at Inter'

Tevez, 27, asked to leave City earlier this season and, although he withdrew his transfer request, there are doubts as to whether he will be at the club next season. Roberto Mancini said last week that he will hold talks with Tevez to decide his future in the summer.

Inter were reported to have held a strong interest in Tevez, and the forward recently refused to comment on a move to the San Siro while he was receiving treatment for his hamstring injury in Milan, but Moratti claims he has made no attempt to sign the player.

"I saw on television that he was recently in Milan, but there is absolutely nothing between us," Moratti said.

It has been suggested that Inter could allow the likes of Wesley Sneijder and Diego Milito to leave in the summer after a disappointing season and, although Moratti has not denied key players could go, he has indicated that he wants to keep the core of the team together.

"I hear stories that we are going to sell big players every summer, but Inter have a strong base and it'll be sad to break that up," he said. "We'll take a look at what we can do in the market. We'd like to lower the age of the squad, but this Inter is not at the end of an era."

Moratti has already denied that there are plans to bring Jose Mourinho back from Real Madrid and, although a Champions League exit could make the coach's position uncertain at the Bernabeu, the Inter president again played down the speculation.

"I haven't heard from Mourinho lately and he presently works for Real Madrid," Moratti said.
