Swiss star Stocker suffers blow
Switzerland winger Valentin Stocker will miss the remainder of the Euro 2012 qualifying campaign after undergoing surgery on his right knee.
The Basle forward tore cruciate ligaments in his knee at the weekend and on Monday was operated on, following which he will spend three to four days in hospital.
The club revealed the 22-year-old would be out for seven to eight months which rules him out of the rest of the qualification campaign for Poland and Ukraine next year with the final match taking place on October 11.
Stocker is also eligible for the Switzerland Under-21 team which has qualified for the European Championships in Denmark in June which he will also miss.
