Harry urges Spurs push for fourth place

Harry Redknapp has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur must make good their opportunity to qualify again for the Champions League because he fears Manchester City and Liverpool will be stronger next season.

With seven games to go, Spurs are three points adrift of fourth-placed Manchester City, with a game in hand, and go to Eastlands on May 10.

Redknapp said: "We need victory tonight as much as Arsenal do. We want to finish in the top four. More of the same please: Redknapp will want to see on Tuesday night a repeat of the North London derby earlier this season where Tottenham came from two goals down at half-time to beat Arsenal at the Emirates.

"We need a win desperately. We've got to win most of our games if we are going to do it. I think it's going to be harder (next season). It's only a matter of time before Man City win a championship, that's for sure.

"If they keep buying top players they are going to win the Premier League sooner or later. You saw the strength of them at Wembley. I think Liverpool will be up there again. I think next year will be harder than this year and this year was harder than the year before."

Redknapp previously tipped Arsenal for title glory but now think Manchester United have the upper hand, though a draw at Newcastle allows the Gunners to close within four points of the leaders. Redknapp also believes that Chelsea can challenge Arsenal for second.

He said: "You have to fancy United now, it's theirs to lose. I could see Arsenal winning the league this year because it was all there, they had no distractions and they just had league games to win."

Speaking of what he thought was the key moment in the title race, Redknapp harked back to April 2 when it looked as if United had blown their advantages but recovered while Arsenal faltered. "On that Saturday, Man United were losing 2-0 at half-time to West Ham and you'd have thought, "Arsenal have Blackburn at home later on today, this is all going to go Arsenal's way now"," he remembered.

"Then it was amazing. Man United came back to win the game and Arsenal couldn't beat Blackburn."
