Ajax sign Fischer

Ajax have signed 16-year-old Danish midfielder Viktor Fischer on a three-year-deal from FC Midtjylland.

The teenager will join the Ajax Academy initially before linking up with the under-19 squad in July.

Ajax currently have two highly-rated Danish players at the club, international playmaker Christian Eriksen and Nicolai Boilesen, and Fischer has already been in touch with the pair.

"Christian and Nicolai have said very positive things about Ajax and how it all works here," he said. "They are very happy here in Amsterdam and that certainly helped me in my decision. It wasn't a difficult one to make."

Asked to describe his own style of play, Fischer said: "I am offensively orientated and try to score as much as possible.

"I want to progress in those areas in particular."
