Borussia Dortmund midfielder Nuri Sahin may have played his last game for the club after the Bundesliga leaders revealed he will miss the rest of the season due to a knee injury.
Sahin, 22, is facing six weeks on the sidelines after suffering a partial ligament tear in his right knee during Sunday's 3-0 victory over Freiburg.
Club doctor Markus Braun performed a scan at the BG Unfallklinik hospital in Duisburg in Monday and then told the club's official website: "Nuri will not be able to play again this season.''
Talented Turkey international Sahin is a reported transfer target for both Barcelona and Real Madrid and is expected to leave the club in the summer, meaning he may have made his final appearance for Dortmund.
Sahin's injury was the one sour note for the Westphalians on Sunday as they took a huge step to claiming their seventh Bundesliga title by opening up an eight-point lead at the top of the table with four matches to play.
