Wednesday night's Champions League victory over Tottenham ensured Real will face their great rivals in the semi-finals of the European competition on April 27 and May 3, as well as in the Copa del Rey final on April 20.

The marathon begins on Saturday though, when Real host Barca at the Bernabeu looking to avenge their 5-0 humbling in the first league fixture between the two sides in November.

The manner of Barca's supremacy in that fixture at Camp Nou, and their subsequent success in opening up an eight-point lead over their rivals at the top of the table, has demonstrated a gulf in class between the two teams.

But Ronaldo is determined to bring Barca back down to earth when they visit the Spanish capital at the weekend.

"They are a great team but they are not from another planet - they are human just like us," Ronaldo told UEFA.com. "They play good football, sure, but so do we. We are feeling good both physically and mentally. I hope that we are going to come out on top in these encounters against them.

"We have to believe it is possible for us to beat them. We are having a good run and feel confident. The team that makes the least mistakes will reach the final. I hope it's Real Madrid."

Real skipper Iker Casillas added: "We must now focus on our league clash against them because it is the nearest of them all. It will be completely different to our fixtures in the semi-finals.

"I am Real Madrid's captain, and I would be disrespecting Madridistas if I said Saturday's clasico didn't matter. We want to defeat Barcelona on Saturday to earn more points because the league title is still attainable. It isn't all lost."
