Robben set for Bayern stay

Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge insists there is no possibility that Arjen Robben will leave the club this summer.

Bayern's hopes of qualifying for next season's Champions League are currently in doubt, with the club two points behind third-placed Hannover with seven games of the season remaining.

Robben, who signed from Real Madrid in 2009, recently said he had no interest in playing in the Europa League, but Rummenigge has insisted the 27-year-old will remain at the club regardless of their final league position.

Rummenigge told Bild: "We all want to play in the Champions League and must now do everything we can to still make it, but one thing is 100% certain and that is that Arjen Robben will be playing for FC Bayern next season, no matter what happens."

Robben had already said on Thursday that he "would love to stay" at Bayern, and he is hopeful that he will be available to face Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday.

"I had a really good week," he said. "I have trained fully with the team twice and it is looking good for tomorrow."

Bayern, though, will be without defender Daniel van Buyten for a fortnight due to a thigh strain.
