Toulouse angry as Sissoko eyes exit
Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko has set his sights firmly on a move away from the club at the end of the season.
Sissoko, 21, has established himself as a key component in the Tefece's engine room since his debut in 2007, racking up 128 appearances and scoring 16 goals.
But he told L'Equipe: ''I've had four years at Toulouse, four years in which I have really progressed. Maybe it's time for me to look elsewhere. Maybe a new challenge is needed for me to reach the next level.
''I need a new challenge. I need to be playing in the Champions League, quite simply. In my head, yes, I would like to go elsewhere. Everything else is out of my control.''
The club's reaction, however, adds credence to the latter statement, with both coach Alain Casanova and club president Olivier Sadran questioning whether his performances this season merit such a move.
''Leaving this summer? I do not agree at all,'' said Casanova. ''For me, Moussa is not the finished article. He has not had a good season this year.''
Sadran reacted even more strongly, insisting: ''He has had a very average season. For him to go (where he wants) would take a disproportionate offer. Regarding his current performances, I doubt he will be able to move.''
