Luiz delighted with Blues switch

David Luiz says he is thrilled with life at Chelsea having made the move from Benfica.

Luiz, 23, has made an instant impact since signing for the Blues on the final day of the January transfer window, with two goals to his name already.

He has also shown signs that he is not yet the finished article - Carlo Ancelotti told him he must "be more calm" after his performances against Fulham and Manchester United - but the defender says he will do all he can to improve.

"Everything has been very positive since I signed and I am very happy for this opportunity that God gave me to play at Chelsea," he said.

"I have to keep my concentration and focus to become a better player in the future. As for Chelsea, we are still fighting for the title and the Champions League."

Luiz, speaking at a press conference ahead of Brazil's friendly with Scotland at Emirates Stadium on Sunday, required the assistance of an interpreter but he dismissed the idea his inability to speak English is an issue.

"The language doesn't get in the way at Chelsea," he said. "I have been taking English classes but the language isn't a problem."

Luiz is also yet to familiarise himself with the footballers of Britain and readily admits he knows next to nothing about the Scotland team.

"I don't know much about them," he said. "I know that Brazil played against them three times in the World Cup and they made it difficult for them, but Charlie Adam is the only name that I know from this team.

"He is an excellent player but I hope he doesn't do too well tomorrow. It is going to be a difficult game because every team that plays against Brazil always does their best, so it's going to be a great game."
