Germany name Prinz in squad

Defending champions and hosts Germany have named a provisional squad of 26 for the sixth Women's World Cup.

The squad includes 33-year-old Birgit Prinz, the World Cup's top goal scorer with 14 goals in four competitions and there are also 15 players who helped Germany to their victory in China four years ago.

''I think we've found a good mix,'' coach Silvia Neid in Frankfurt. ''The squad is very even. We have options available to us in every position and the level of proficiency is as high as it needs to be in a World Cup final.''

The squad will be reduced to 21 players in late May.
