Cagliari fans rewarded for loyalty

Cagliari have rewarded their fans for standing by their team during the heavy home defeat to Udinese by giving them free tickets for their next home game.

The supporters never stopped cheering despite the Sardinian outfit's 4-0 thrashing at the Sant' Elia on Sunday. And the Sardinian club have announced that the fans at Sunday's game would receive free access to the Serie A match against Brescia on April 10.

''We want to thank the fans that were at the stadium on Sunday for showing a sporting maturity throughout the game,'' Cagliari president Massimo Cellino said.

''It was an example of civility and showed their deep attachment towards the club. This reaffirms the values set by the club over the years.''

Cagliari are 10th in the standings and visit Napoli on Sunday.
