Krasic: Players to blame for Juve woe

Milos Krasic believes the Juventus players must take responsibility for the club's below-par season, as pressure mounts on Bianconeri boss Luigi Del Neri.

• Juventus stand by Del Neri
• Blog: Should he stay or should he go?

Juve have lost thee Serie A games in a row - against Lecce, Bologna and AC Milan - and are currently seventh in the table, 20 points behind league leaders Milan.

A title challenge is completely out of the question and Del Neri's side also look unlikely to qualify for the Champions League for the second succesive season, as they are ten points adrift of fourth-placed Lazio.

The Bianconeri board have thus far backed the under-fire Del Neri, but Krasic says it is the players and not the coach who should be blamed for the club's poor season.

"We are going through a difficult situation," Krasic told Sky Italia. "But with the right spirit we can all get out of this crisis because we have quality. We all share the responsibility for this moment.

"Every club can go through difficult moment, but with work and training you can get out of it. We are the only ones responsible and for this we all have to work together on the psychology in order to get out of this situation."

Krasic has endured a mixed first season in Serie A following his €15 million move from CSKA Moscow last summer. Some exciting early displays led Juve director Beppe Marotta to praise Krasic's abilities in December, saying: "I certainly don't doubt the quality of Krasic ... I did not expect that Milos would adapt so quickly, both as a player and a person."

But the Serbia international appears to have tailed off and has struggled for consistency of late, with many blaming his apparent problems on the fact that he has now played more than a year of football with no time off because of the Russian season running through the European summer.

However, Krasic insists his lack of rest is no excuse, saying: "I haven't stopped for a year, but I am not looking for an alibi. Tiredness doesn't justify my performances."
