Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan says he has "complete and total faith" in manager Roberto Martinez to steer the club clear of relegation this season.
Martinez's position has come under scrutiny given Wigan are currently stuck at the bottom of the Premier League table, and four points behind 17th-placed West Ham, following a run of only one win in 11 games.
Whelan, who has funded a trip to La Manga for the underperforming squad this week, still believes Martinez is the man to ensure the club retain their top-flight status.
"I have complete and total faith in Roberto, and the stability of the club remains total," Whelan told the Wigan Observer. "I have complete confidence that he will turn it round. I couldn't criticise Roberto at all for the way we're playing or the application of the lads just now.
"We've got some very, very winnable matches coming up and we have to go out there and make sure we win them. I still think we can do it."
