Roma defender Nicolas Burdisso believes that the struggling club could turn their season around with a win over Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League.
Roma need to overturn a 3-2 aggregate deficit in the second leg - having conceded three goals in 12 first-half minutes - and travel to Ukraine on a high after rising to sixth in the Serie A table following the sacking of coach Claudio Ranieri last month.
"I have faith because we are Roma and we cannot forget this," Burdisso said. "At the Olimpico we played the game, apart from those ten minutes.
"However, this could be the breakthrough we need. If we play a good game and win then everything will change. A win would mean the last few months will be different for us."
Roma skipper Francesco Totti is also confident his side can win against the odds.
Speaking on his official website, Totti revealed: "I have faith in light of our game in the Champions League. It will be vital to stay calm and try not to concede. There is plenty of will to progress in the Champions League."
