Lindegaard unimpressed with win

Anders Lindegaard has pulled no punches in his summation of Manchester United's FA Cup fifth-round win over Crawley, claiming the Red Devils have no reason to be proud of the victory.

• Crawley captain savours occasion

United toiled against their Blue Square Premier opponents at Old Trafford, scraping through 1-0 thanks to Wes Brown's first-half strike, and the visitors had every right to feel disappointed not to have snatched a replay.

Danish 'keeper Lindegaard, who had a far busier afternoon than he would have expected, has called for his team-mates to up their game ahead of crucial fixtures against Marseille and Chelsea.

"That was not as straightforward as we would have wished for," he said. "We didn't play a good match and we can't be proud of what we did.

"The manager and the coaches were telling us for a couple of days, especially us foreigners who are not used to the FA Cup, how it is played. We were told that anything could happen. Anything nearly did. We should definitely do better."
