Senegal through but lose pair to suspension

Roma stunned by comeback

Genoa recovered from three goals down to beat Roma 4-3 and increase the pressure on Giallorossi coach Claudio Ranieri in a dramatic encounter at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

Philippe Mexes put Roma ahead in the sixth minute before Nicolas Burdisso added a second 10 minutes later. Francesco Totti added the third in the 51st minute, but Rodrigo Palacio started Genoa's comeback within two minutes.

Alberto Paloschi gave them further hope in the 68th minute before Palacio brought them level six minutes later. And the two goalscorers combined for the winner in the 85th minute with Paloschi netting his second goal of the game to complete an amazing turnaround.

Alexandre Pato came off the bench to score AC Milan's winner against Chievo as the Serie A leaders brushed aside their Champions League defeat in midweek with a 2-1 victory at the Marc' Antonio Bentegodi.

Milan were beaten 1-0 by Tottenham at the San Siro on Tuesday but managed to get back to winning ways after the Brazilian hit an 82nd-minute winner. Robinho had given his side the lead after 23 minutes only for Gelson Fernandes to equalise after just over an hour, teeing up Pato's memorable effort.

Napoli edged out Catania 1-0 to reclaim second place from Inter. Edinson Cavani missed an 11th minute penalty for the hosts, but Juan Zuniga found the net 14 minutes later to seal the points.

Juventus' hopes of securing Champions League football suffered a setback as they lost 3-0 at relegation-threatened Lecce in a match which saw both sides reduced to ten men.

Juve goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon was sent off in the 12th minute for handball outside the penalty area, and the hosts made use of their extra man to take control with goals from Djamel Mesbah and Andrea Bertolacci.

Giuseppe Vives' red card for second bookable offence midway through the second half evened up the numbers, but the Bianconeri could not restore parity in the scoreline.

Lazio edged strugglers Bari to secure back-to-back Serie A wins for the first time since October and remain fourth in the table with a 1-0 victory. Brazilian midfielder Hernanes' sixth-minute goal handed the Romans all three points at the Stadio Olimpico.

Raffaele Palladino's 89th-minute strike for Parma prevented Cesena from leaving the Stadio Ennio Tardini with an ill-deserved victory as the teams drew 1-1. The visitors, second from bottom in the Serie A table, led twice through Alessandro Rosina and Paolo Sammarco despite Parma dominating the game. But Hernan Crespo's penalty and Palladino's late intervention ensured a point for the hosts.

Udinese extended their long unbeaten run at the Friuli Stadium with a goalless draw against Brescia but lost ground on fourth-place Lazio.

Fiorentina and Sampdoria battled out a goalless draw at the Stadio Artemio Franchi which did little to boost either side's cause.
