Jose's nine-year home run
Jose Mourinho will be able to celebrate nine years unbeaten in the league on home soil if Real Madrid avoid defeat to Levante in La Liga on Saturday.
Mourinho last lost a home game on February 23, 2002 when FC Porto were beaten 3-2 by Beira Mar. The game against 15th placed Levante, who have won only two away games all season and lost 8-0 at Real in the Copa del Rey two months ago, is his last at Bernabeu before the ninth anniversary of that reverse.
Since the loss to Beira Mar, Mourinho has not lost a single home match in charge of FC Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan or Real Madrid. That's a run of 147 league games with 122 wins and 25 draws with 331 goals scored and 87 conceded.
Mourinho has won every single home match at the Bernabeu, in all competitions, since taking over last summer.
But Barcelona have still to make the journey to their arch rivals in April.
Mourinho, meanwhile, feels that Real will truly come into form next season.
"The natural tendency is for us to win something and initiate a cycle that we hope will produce more victories,'' he told Cadena Cope. "But my hopes are a lot more for my team next year than this season.''
As for boardroom relations, Mourinho said: "Today I see the club in the same direction as me. We have the same thought, the same philosophy, there is much more empathy, because the personal empathy has always been very good with the president (Florentino Perez) and Jose Angel (Sanchez, director general).''
