Luis Fabiano to leave Sevilla

Brazil striker Luis Fabiano claims he will leave Spanish side Sevilla in the summer, putting the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham on alert.

• Blackburn made Fabiano bid

Fabiano, 30, is viewed as one of the top strikers around and has won the UEFA Cup, Super Cup and Copa del Rey with Sevilla since joining them from FC Porto in 2005. However, transfer speculation has unsettled the striker and, with his contract expiring in 2013, he is keen to move on to the next chapter of his career.

"Now we are in the middle of the season and perhaps it is not the best moment to speak, but it is clear that my cycle with Sevilla has ended,'' Fabiano told Brazilian website Globoesporte. "I have won many titles and have also played in the Champions League. (I've experienced) excellent things during the last few years but things in football don't always last."

Sevilla rejected several bids for Fabiano in January, from three Brazilian clubs, and the striker has admitted that adding to his 43 caps for his country is of primary concern.

"Clubs such as Corinthians, Santos and Inter Porto Alegre wanted me but Sevilla decided not to listen to their offers," he said. "The rumours and the blows have made the last few months complicated but personally I am content with my performances.

"Still my dreams lie with the Canarinha [Brazil's yellow shirt] and my ambition is to help them triumph in the next Copa America. I left the World Cup unhappy and now I want a title with Brazil."
