Motherwell have confirmed the signing of Francis Jeffers until the end of the season.
Jeffers, 30, has moved to Fir Park after leaving Australian A-League side Newcastle Jets. The former England international who scored on his solitary national appearance against Australia in 2003, returns to the Scottish Premier League following a loan spell with Rangers in 2005 during which he failed to score in eight appearances.
Motherwell manager Stuart McCall said: ''Francis is an excellent player and someone we think will score goals in the Scottish Premier League.
''We hope Franny can get back to some of his early career form. There is absolutely no doubting his ability and in the conversations I've had with him, he seems really hungry for this challenge.''
Jeffers began his career with Everton, before moves to Arsenal, Charlton, Blackburn and Sheffield Wednesday.
