Chelsea & United for May showdown?

Chelsea and Manchester United could face each other twice within a matter of days after it was reported their scheduled clash in March will be postponed is Chelsea get through to the Fifth Round of the FA Cup.

Chelsea's replay with Everton takes place on the weekend of the Fifth Round, meaning the first available opportunity for Chelsea or Everton to play Reading will be on March 1.

If Chelsea were to prevail, their planned fixture with United at Stamford Bridge on that date would have to be postponed.

Fixture congestion caused by a round of international friendlies in February, as well as the return of the Champions League, is to blame for the pile-up.

But with the sides set to meet at Old Trafford on May 7, it raises the possibility of them facing each other twice in a matter of days - a situation which may suit United, who could already have the Championship wrapped up by then.
