Sergio Aguero says he and he alone will decide when the time is right to leave Atletico Madrid.
Aguero was at the centre of feverish speculation as the transfer window came to a close with Chelsea, Real Madrid and Tottenham said to have made big-money moves to sign him.
But though the 22-year-old is in high demand, and despite Atletico's stuttering form in La Liga, the striker says he is happy to stay put.
"I will leave Atletico when I want to," said Aguero. "I will decide the day not the club, nor my agent. If I wanted to leave the club, I wouldn't have renewed my contract as I would have been free to leave in 11 months.
"I am really happy about the extension and now we can move on. I am tied to Atletico because they have always treated me well."
Atletico currently sit seventh in the Spanish league and were knocked out of the Europa League - the competition they won last season - in the group stages.
But despite qualification for next season's Champions League looking unlikely, Aguero wants to stay and help his club improve their fortunes.
"All I am focused on now is doing well with Atletico and trying to get the points we need," he added. "Our objective (the top four) is far away but it is still possible as there are lots of points to play for this season."
