Pazzini stars on Inter debut

Inter Milan delivered a stunning second-half fightback to wipe out a two-goal deficit and get the better of Palermo 3-2.

Fabrizio Miccoli gave Palermo an early lead and, when Antonio Nocerino made it two, the odds looked to be stacked against Leonardo's men.

Debutant Giampaolo Pazzini gave Inter hope, but they still had to survive a missed penalty from Javier Pastore before they wrapped up the win with Pazzini's second and a Samuel Eto'o penalty.

Edinson Cavani put Sampdoria to the sword as Napoli kept the heat on Serie A leaders AC Milan with a 4-0 win. The Uruguayan scored a hat-trick with Marek Hamsik also on target for the hosts.

The thumping win saw Napoli close the gap on Milan to four points. Defeat, though, made it three league games without a win or even so much as a goal for Samp, whose European hopes suffered a blow.

Udinese climbed above Juventus in the table with a 2-1 victory at the Stadio Olimpico to pile the pressure on Juve coach Luigi Delneri.

Claudio Marchisio opened the scoring for the hosts against the run of play after an hour, but Cristian Zapata levelled seven minutes later.

Alexis Sanchez earned Francesco Guidolin's side all three points five minutes from the end before red cards were shown to Juve's Leonardo Bonucci and Sanchez in the final minutes.

Bologna's home game with AS Roma was abandoned after only 16 minutes due to heavy snow.

Cagliari defeated Serie A's bottom club Bari 2-1 in a game of early goals and missed penalties.

Alessandro Matri scored twice in the first 12 minutes, with Stefano Okaka pulling a goal back for the visitors two minutes later.

Bari were denied an equalising goal four minutes before half-time when Michael Agazzi saved Gergely Rudolf's penalty and follow-up, before Cagliari's Robert Acquafresca wasted a chance from the spot near the end.

Genoa won their first game of 2011 at the expense of Parma, with a 3-1 victory at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

Parma defender Gabriel Paletta gave them a hand, first by giving away a penalty in the 16th minute, which was converted by Rodrigo Palacio, and then by scoring an own goal after Hernan Crespo had brought Parma level.

Kakha Kaladze's first goal for Genoa on the stroke of half time sealed all three points for the Rossoblu.

Chievo took a significant step towards Serie A safety thanks to a 3-0 win at struggling Brescia.

Sergio Pellissier put the Flying Donkeys in front on the stroke of half-time and Davide Mandelli added a second just two minutes into the second half.

Pellissier struck again in stoppage time to seal all three points for Stefano Pioli's side and to put some daylight between themselves and the bottom three.

The future is not looking quite so bright for Brescia now, though, as they remain inside the bottom three with just five wins from 22 games.

Erjon Bogdani headed in an injury-time equaliser to earn Cesena a share of the spoils at Lecce as the match ended 1-1.

In a battle of strugglers at the Via del Mare stadium, Lecce were within seconds of claiming three valuable points in their fight against relegation after benefiting from an 11th-minute goal by Daniele Corvia.

The visitors should have pulled level with nine minutes remaining but Igor Budan saw his penalty saved by Lecce goalkeeper Antonio Rosati, but it was left to Bogdani to end their three-game losing streak.

The result leaves Lecce just one place and one point clear of Cesena, who occupy the final relegation place in Serie A.
