West Ham are on the verge of completing the loan signing of Tottenham striker Robbie Keane, who will join the Hammers until the end of the season with a view to a £6 million move should they stay up.
After weeks of on-off talks and a £4 million straight cash deal with Birmingham collapsing, Keane is on the move across London.
A West Ham source told ESPNsoccernet: "The deal for Robbie Keane is still very much alive. The club will be loaning with a guarantee that we buy him if, and only if, we stay up."
The Hammers will pay a loan fee of £1 million and have agreed to pay his £65,000-a-week wages in full until the end of the season.
Keane has looked in danger of missing out on Spurs' 25-man squad and the opportunity to play regularly has attracted Keane to Upton Park.
