Barzagli joins Juventus

Juventus have completed the signing of Italy defender Andrea Barzagli from Wolfsburg.

Wolfsburg to sign Lakic

Barzagli has put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year deal that will keep him with the Turin giants until June 2013. Barzagli returns to Serie A following a three-year spell in Germany.

A statement from Juventus read: "Barzagli is officially a Juventus player. The defender trained today with his new team-mates but will not feature in today's Coppa Italia match against Roma."

The 29-year-old centre-back joined Wolfsburg from Palermo in 2008 and is expected to provide Juve with back-up for Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci.

Barzagli, who was part of Italy's World Cup-winning squad in 2006, will make his debut for Juventus in Sunday's match against Udinese.
