Buffon: I want to end my career at Juve

Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has attempted to put an end to speculation about his future by insisting that he wants to play for the Bianconeri for the rest of his career.

Buffon, 32, has been consistently linked with a move away from Turin in recent years, with the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City regularly tipped to make a move.

But the Italy No. 1, who has been the most expensive goalkeeper of all time since he joined Juve for £32.6 million back in 2001, has stressed time and again that he is happy at the club and has now moved to commit his long-term future to the Italian giants.

"The demonstration of unconditional love towards me from the fans is something to which you can't remain insensitive," Buffon told Sky Italia. "I hope to continue the rest of my career here at Juventus."

Buffon recently returned from a lengthy period on the sidelines with a back injury and has played Juve's past two games against Catania in the Coppa Italia and Bari in Serie A.

Bianconeri coach Luigi Del Neri has put his faith in Buffon by picking him ahead of Marco Stoari, who impressed during his six-month absence.

The decision has reportedly led Stoari to consider a move to Genoa, though coach Davide Ballardini may make a swoop for Italy World Cup goalkeeper Federico Marchetti.
