Keane not available for loan

Robbie Keane firmly remains a Tottenham player and Harry Redknapp has confirmed any interested parties will be wasting their time in tabling loan bids for the Republic of Ireland international.

The striker has slipped down the Tottenham pecking order and has made it clear he wants to head for pastures new in a bid to secure regular playing time.

The likes of West Ham, Birmingham, Newcastle, Wolves and Aston Villa have been credited with an interest and it was reported on Friday that the Hammers were in pole. Redknapp, though, has played down talk of that transfer as he claims West Ham's proposal was for a loan deal.

"It was a loan situation," Redknapp said of the reported offer from Upton Park. "West Ham wanted a loan but he's not for loan. We wouldn't be loaning him out.

"He went out on loan last year so we won't be doing that again. If someone wants him they will have to buy him."
