Juve promise Quagliarella replacement

Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta has assured Bianconeri fans that the club are working to bring in a replacement striker for injured leading scorer Fabio Quagliarella.

• Arshavin agent confirms Juve interest
• Del Piero wants response
• Quagliarella out for the season
• Juventus sign Luca Toni

Quagliarella is out for the season after damaging knee ligaments in last Thursday's home defeat by Parma, leaving Juve with Amauri, Alessandro Del Piero and Vincenzo Iaquinta as the club's remaining first-team forwards.

Luigi Delneri has already moved to sign bustling frontman Luca Toni from Genoa, but Marotta has promised fans that Juve's January action won't end there.

"It's our intention to find a substitute for Quagliarella," Marotta said. "We'll look to take the opportunities that present themselves in the transfer market."

Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Atletico Madrid's Diego Forlan is high on Juve's wanted list, though Udinese's Antonio Floro Flores is suggested to be a more realistic alternative.
