Perth Glory defender Chris Coyne has been ruled out for the rest of the A-League season after scans revealed a partial tear in his right Achilles tendon.
The injury means Coyne will finish the season without a single Glory game to his name after a transfer oversight from his loan stint in China made him ineligible to play in the A-League until January.
"It's a really tough pill to swallow because I've already missed so many games," Coyne said.
"I would like to acknowledge the chairman Tony Sage for his support and wish my teammates all the best for the final six games.
"I'm shattered that I won't get the opportunity to play for Perth Glory this season."
The Glory are nine points adrift of sixth spot ahead of Saturday night's home clash with Melbourne Heart.
