FA: No regular Home Internationals

Football Association general secretary Alex Horne has insisted that the possible return of the Home Internationals would only be a "one-off" event.

The FA is in talks with Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland regarding a potential series of fixtures in 2013 to mark the FA's 150th anniversary.

But Horne says a return to the days of regular competition against the other Home Nations is not on the agenda. The Home Internationals tournament was disbanded in 1984.

"We're talking to the home nations about a possible one-off round of matches with them,'' Horne said, speaking at the official announcement of the FA's new partnership with Vauxhall. "I think we'd be talking about a series of one-off matches in 2013 to mark our 150th anniversary."

Meanwhile, England manager Fabio Capello added of the new sponsorship deal: "We will do all we can to reward Vauxhall for their support and this begins with our first objective of the new year - to qualify for Euro 2012.

"I remember I was Milan manager. They started with me, the same company, and we won a lot of titles. We've got a good team. 2011 is a very important year.

"I hope for the next games we have to play, the best players will be fit. My goal is qualify for the Euros and it will be really important every game that we play."

England are currently second in Euro 2012 qualifying Group G, three points behind Montenegro, who have played a game extra.
