Defender Rami moves from Lille to Valencia

Valencia have confirmed the signing of France defender Adil Rami from Lille.

Rami, 25, has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract after the clubs agreed a deal which will see the player loaned back to the Ligue 1 leaders before linking up with Valencia permanently in the summer.

Rami was delighted to have secured a move to Spain and a Valencia side who are currently fourth in the Primera Division.

``I am happy to have fulfilled the dream of playing for one of the biggest teams in European football,'' he told the club's official website.

``Valencia are well known throughout the world and I have achieved one of the goals we all seek as a player.''

Rami intends to end his spell with Lille on a high before completing his move to the Mestalla, adding: ``I want to finish the season well with Lille, who I owe a lot because it is the team where I spent most of my professional life.

``And then from July I will give everything for my new team.''
