Macheda could make permanent return

Federico Macheda's agent has claimed any loan from Manchester United is likely to include an option to buy.

Ferguson confirms Macheda loan plan

Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed Macheda, 19, will be allowed to leave Old Trafford on loan but said the intention of the deal would be to gain six months' experience before "coming back to us a better player".

However, agent Giovanni Bia has now indicated that he expects any move to include an option of a permanent transfer.

"I can say that Inter, Juventus, Fiorentina and Lazio are all clubs that potentially could take the player," he told tuttomercatoweb.

"However, at this moment in time, this is all speculation and there is nothing concrete. Now that Sir Alex Ferguson has given his okay for an eventual departure, we'll see what happens.

"I don't think the player will simply arrive on a pure loan, though. I think any deal would at least be a loan with the option to buy."
