Beckham to discuss loan move

David Beckham is to hold talks with LA Galaxy before the end of the year to discuss the feasibility of a short-term loan as he looks to maximise his chances of playing for England again.

Beckham considering U-turn

Beckham has spent the Christmas period considering his options and there are seven clubs in England that have already expressed interest, as well as clubs in Germany, France, Spain and Italy.

England boss Fabio Capello has not shut the door on Beckham providing he is playing at a high level in Europe at the start of the New Year.

With the US season beginning in March, Galaxy are reluctant to loan out a player who, when on loan to AC Milan earlier this year, returned to the States injured. For that reason, the possibility of a six-month loan until the end of the European season would be very difficult, if not impossible, to negotiate.

However, Spurs have expressed an interest of taking Beckham for just three months and would head the list of clubs from the Premier League. The rest have been from outside the top five, and from the North, whereas Beckham has expressed a preference for London.

If the talks with LA Galaxy prove successful, Chelsea will be sounded out on New Year's Day about the feasibility of a deal. Carlo Ancelotti has a close relationship with Beckham after his stints on loan at Milan and, with the Blues looking to tighten their belts, he could prove a cheap option to add depth to the squad.

An insider close to Chelsea told ESPNsoccernet: "Carlo is one of the few managers who has already handled Beckham. Chelsea are trying to push through the kids, but most of the best of them are left sided, and sometimes you need an experienced player to balance out the idea of trying to develop your own talent."

Beckham has previously said that he would only return to the Premier League with Manchester United out of respect for the club and, although it appears he has now softened his stance, ESPNsoccernet sources have been informed that he would not be prepared to consider a move to Liverpool or Manchester City.
