Drenthe bemoans unpaid wages

Hercules' on-loan midfielder Royston Drenthe has issued a warning to the club that he will quit and return to Real Madrid unless his unpaid wages are settled.

Drenthe, 23, has been left outrage by Hercules' failure to pay him five of the six months' worth of wages he is owed, but he is not alone after the Alicante outfit were forced to admit that a host of players have not been played.

Hercules, who hit the headlines in the summer for the high-profile signing of David Trezeguet ahead of their first season in La Liga, have promised that all oustanding players' wages will be paid in January when they receive an expected cash injection.

But Drenthe has urged Hercules to pay him immediately and warned that he will return to parent club Real Madrid if his demands are not satisfied.

"If they don't find a solution for my pay I will go back to Real Madrid to train and regain my strength," Drenthe told Marca. "Of the six months I have been here they have only paid me for one, and they owe me five.

"I have a lot of expenses and I cannot work without pay. At Hercules they have given me a lot of talk but no action. Until there is action, I am not going back. I love the Hercules fans but this is not right."
