Baines ignores Bayern and Man U links

Leighton Baines has shrugged off links with Manchester United and Bayern Munich, with the left-back insisting he has no intention of leaving Everton.

After a tough start to life on Merseyside, Baines has settled in well at Goodison Park and is a fixture in David Moyes' plans. The 26-year-old is under contract until 2014, but he is reported to be the subject of interest from two of European football's big guns.

Everton's budget is not large so Bayern and United could test their resolve with a bid, but Baines is committed to life with the Toffees.

"I haven't seen too much about it and I don't know too much about it," Baines told the Times. "I am just concentrating on trying to play for Everton. I have just signed a new contract and I tied myself to the club in the summer.

"I have no intentions at the moment of leaving. I am not looking elsewhere and am completely focused on what I am doing here."

Moyes is not surprised clubs of Bayern's ilk are interested in Baines, but the Everton manager - like the player himself - is adamant the left-back will not be moving.

"As far as I can see it can only be speculation," Moyes said. "There has been no contact but it seems to have got quite a lot of headlines."

"He is in good form, undoubtedly. He is rightly getting admiration from big clubs but I can guarantee, to my office, there has been no contact. We don't let our top players go, we keep them.''
