Trending: Mourinho unhappy with coach

Klopp proud of Dortmund despite defeat

Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp was happier to reflect on what his side has achieved over the last four months rather than bemoan his side's second defeat of the season.

Dortmund's 15-game unbeaten streak was ended by Eintracht Frankfurt, leaving the Westphalians 10 points clear at the top of the Bundesliga, but Klopp was nonetheless satisfied.

"I would be castigated for not admitting that we have played a decent first half of the season,'' he said. "I have the right to look back on what we have done and I have every reason to be proud.''

Dortmund's lead at the top of the table could be reduced to eight points by Bayer Leverkusen today and Klopp is still not talking about his side's title chances.

"Fortunately we live in a free country where I don't have to talk about anything if I don't want to,'' he said. ``We talk about the championship because we are taking part in it, but we only have to live up to our own expectations and those of our fans, nothing else.''

Frankfurt coach Michael Skibbe was understandably pleased that his side had become only the second this season to defeat Dortmund.

However, he too preferred to look at the bigger picture and revel in his side's seventh position.

"I would never have thought after five matches that we would have 26 points at the end of the first half of the season,'' he said.
