Premier Showdown - Dec 11-13

Another victory for Dale Johnson at the weekend puts the heat back on Tommy Smyth at the top of the table. But we think it's high time that the Rest of the World picked up some points.

Who's looking for some ROTW pride this weekend? It's John Culea, who has been a dedicated player of our Premier League fantasy game. He's from San Diego in the United States.

John tells us: "For the last nine years I've been the media and communications director for a San Diego County Supervisor. Before that I was in television news for 31 years between 1969-2000.

"I also lived in London for two years while in the navy and that's when I became a Chelsea supporter. Used to be able to sit in best seats at Stamford Bridge for 10 shillings.

"I'm also the organizer of 17-team Fantasy league, currently in second place."

Let's check out those predictions.

Points are then awarded as follows:
• Three points for a correct result and scoreline
• One point for a correct result

After the weekend's scores are in and the Showdown result has been worked out, the winning pundit receives three points for their season's total. Should the challenger win, the total is added to the Rest of the World tally. In the case of a draw, the points are shared.

Dale gets within touching distance of Tommy at the top of the table. Who will be the Christmas number one?

Table after Round 17
Tommy: 22.5
Dale: 21
Rest of the World: 7.5

Best week's total of season so far: 13, Bob McFarland.
