Inter ease into final, Pachuca finish fifth
Inter Milan booked their place in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup with a comfortable 3-0 win over Asian champions Seongnam Ilhwa in Abu Dhabi.
Dejan Stankovic and skipper Javier Zanetti's first-half goals set the Nerazzurri on their way before Diego Milito sealed the result on 73 minutes.
"We needed a victory like this and I above all wanted it for my team-mates who are coming back into the side," Zanetti said after the game.
"Today we stepped out on to the field with the right attitude and wanted to do well. I dedicate the goal to my family. I am happy, as I really want to bring this trophy back to Milan."
Inter will now meet surprise package TP Mazembe on Saturday after the DR Congo side beat Internacional 1-0 to become the first ever African team to reach the final.
In the day's earlier game, Pachuca came from two goals down to draw 2-2 and then beat ten-man Al-Wahda on penalties and finish fifth in the tournament.
After a largely disappointing campaign in the United Arab Emirates, the Central American champions at least finished on a high before going back to Mexico. However, they made hard work of it before emerging 4-2 winners from a penalty shoot-out after Dario Cvitanich rescued them.
