Stoke deny interest in Bridge
Stoke City chairman Peter Coates has played down talk of the club making a January transfer raid on Manchester City for Wayne Bridge.
Bridge has slipped down the pecking order at Eastlands and widespread reports on Wednesday morning claimed he had emerged as a target for the Potters.
Coates claims the left-back is not a player who has cropped up in conversations with his manager Tony Pulis and has insisted their transfer dealings will remain private.
"There is nothing in that and certainly Tony has not mentioned it to me so I would be surprised if that happened," Coates told Sky Sports News.
"We like to keep our cards very close to our chest. You guys have ways of getting things out but you will not be getting anything out of me on this issue."
Bridge has over two years remaining on a lucrative contract at City and is said to also be attracting interest from Liverpool and Fulham.
